Welcome 2007 FFL Managers
This year, we paired the league down to 12 teams (from 14 teams last year) and added a $10 buy-in. Scoring stayed untouched from last year. The league had a really good turnout at the live draft this year, even though there was some last minute date changes, pushing the draft just two days before the start of the 2007 NFL football season. But all issues were worked out before the first kickoff and the season started without a hitch.
The league was again, competitive, with every week having at least one good matchup. The normal suspects were at the top of the league, but two notable teams, Bronson Bombers and FlavorOfTheMonth, struggled each week and both sneaked into the playoffs in the final week of the regular season.
All in all, the league was a lot of fun, had plenty of upsets in the playoffs and crowned the leagues first two-time champion (since 2005).
2007 Final Standings

2007 Season Awards
- Comeback Team of the Year - The Autumn Wind. After last years technical debacle and finishing 4-9, The Autumn Wind came back with a vengeance, finishing 5th in the regular season and winning the championship, to become the first two-time winner of the league.
- Best Overall Draft - Amaru Star. This was a tough on this year, because there were a lot of teams with solid drafts. But, Amaru Star had the last pick of the first round, put together a league-high, 10-3 regular season and only made a total of 24 moves all season!
- "Whoopin' Stick" Award - Week 9, FlavorOfTheMonth. The matchup against Jorge's Revenge garnered FlavorOfTheMonth the biggest blowout of the season, 121.19 points, to be exact. This is the second year in a row that this award has come of a Jorge's Shockers blowout...
- "Steamroller" Award - Stoned Ponies. With an 8-game win streak, Stoned Ponies by far was unstoppable late in the season and steamrolled his way into the playoffs. The second best streak was held by three managers, all with 5-game win streaks.
- Mover and Shaker Award - Bronson Bombers. He reclaims this awardwith a total of 53 moves this season, which was 14 more than any other manager. Overall though, every team had at least 10 moves, so there was a lot of work being done over the free agent market.
- "Razor's Edge" Award - Week 12, Stoned Ponies. Stoned Ponies won this award last year also. This year, the win over ICONS V was only by .25 points, but still the closest game of the year!
- Best Player Award - Tom Brady. This was the year of the QBs, with Brady and Romo topping the scoring charts. But Brady was all by himself at the top, scoring 470.70 this season, over 100 point margin from second place. Mongo's Militia stole the leading scorer in the 3rd Round of the draft. He apparently knew something no one else did that day.
- Single-Game "En Fuego" Award - Week 9, FlavorOfTheMonth. Putting up 217.79 points in one game was the high score of the season, beatting out Bronson Bombers by just 4 points, which was the only other 200 point game of the regular season.
- "Improbable Performance" Award - FlavorOfTheMonth. The last two games of the year, FlavorOfTheMonth had to matchup against the two #1 teams and win one game to even make the playoffs. Then, holding the 8 seed, had to play the 1 seed yet again (who beat him the week prior) in a rematch. FlavorOfTheMonth pulled out a first round win and made it into the second round as an 8 seed. Quite improbable, although Amaru Star has a tendency to bow out early each year...
- Manager of the Year - Mongo's Militia. The first year that the award doesn't go to the regular season or league champion. This year, Mongo's Militia built his team from the fourth draft pick, was constantly on the waiver wires which got him a 9-4 record (tied for second best in the league). He then was able to get his team to the final game of the post-season, finishing second overall. There were a handful of superb managers out there, but Mongo's Militia made it evident that having a solid draft and continuing to look for talent week-to-week is a formula for success!
