Welcome 2008 FFL Managers

In 2008, we maintained a 12-team league. We lost a couple managers, Malone (busy in multiple leagues) and Gingerich (apparently a wedding and honeymoon were more important) but replaced them with our 2007 Champion, Nitro, and a new guy (StarPower).

The league was again ultra-competitive, but a couple managers, Stoned Ponies and The Autumn Wind, had a down year and missed the playoffs. Obamaru Star won his first championship and with his consistently strong teams, may be seeing the start of a dynasty!

2008 Season Awards

Comeback Team of the Year - Obamaru Star. In 2007, he won the regular season but lost in the first round of the playoffs. But in 2008, Obamaru Star led the pack in the regular season and followed through with a championship! Best Overall Draft - Dolphins Rising. Picking last is always painful, but this year he took his team to second place from the bottom of the draft. "Whoopin' Stick" Award - Obamaru Star. In Week 11, he put the hurt on RHOMBUS, scoring 104.26 more points. "Steamroller" Award - Obamaru Star. He reeled off an 8-game winning streak. Mover and Shaker Award - Bronson Bombers. 80 moves in 2008 locked up this award. "Razor's Edge" Award - The 317s. He squeaked out a win by 0.26 points over Nitro in Week 6. Best Player Award - Drew Brees. Scoring 381.35 points for Nitro, Brees was the leading fantasy scorer in 2008. Single-Game "En Fuego" Award - Dolphins Rising. In Week 12, he put up 187.85 points. There were several scores in the 180s, but this was tops! Manager of the Year - Obamaru Star. Its always hard to not pick the league champion and 2008 gives me no reason to do so. Obamaru Star set a frantic pace in the regular season and handled business in the playoffs.
