I spent a few hours the other day working on a little project for Amy.  Basically, she wanted some A-frames with dowels sticking through to hang some of her yarn projects on for an upcoming craft show.  I took the idea and ran with it, adding a hinge at the top so it could collapse for storage.

So, I felt really good as I worked with some scrap would getting a hinge set and a good hole diameter for the dowels.  It was the first time I used any boring bits and it was really easy.  After I played around with my test pieces, I went forward and built a full-size prototype and showed it to Amy.  Everything worked perfectly, so I know exactly what to do to make the 2' versions.

But then I wanted to route the edges and that's where my skills fell apart.  I have just never been good at routing.  I spent the next two hours screwing around with the router, trying to get its height adjusted and ended up with it taken apart on my worktable.  I eventually got it all back together and working, but my routed edges still suck.

I'm going to have to work on that a bit more before I can finish the prototype...
